History of our Village

  We will make you discover various documents allowing to reconstitute the history of our village to the wire of times :

  - The first chapter will be devoted at the origins of the village, its geographical location and its demographic trends.
  - We will discover then the monument “headlight” of the village, its church and the various adventures which marked its history.
  - The chapter three will be devoted to the Lords De Pardieu, their castles and the families which lived in Avremesnil.
  - In the chapter four, we will discover the Town hall through the ages and the principal monuments of the village.
  - Various newspaper cuttings concerning the commune will be compiled in the chapter five.
  - The chapter six will be devoted to our school with the wire of time.
  - We will find the tradesmen of the village in the chapter Seven.
  - The second world war will be evoked through testimonys of our fellow-citizens in the chapter eight.
  - We will découvirons our village seen of the sky at various times in the new chapter.
  - Lastly, the final chapter will be devoted to the history of weavings through their factory.

  Each chapter will be put on line at the rate/rhythm of the publication of the Municipal Bulletin (every quarter)

André Lavenu sent to us a photograph of his large father Octave Emile Levillain, died at the 27 years age in the trench of the Madness on September 25, 1915 and buried with the cemetery of the Sash bolt with Neuville St Waast (62). He had been born in Avremesnil on September 12, 1888, his name is reproduced on the war memorial.
